(National Sentinel) Justice Denied: If you’re famous, a Democrat, and you hate POTUS Donald Trump, you can get away with just about anything in California, apparently.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has decided it will not prosecute porn star lawyer Michael Avenatti on very credible felony domestic violence charges. Instead, the DA referred the case to the city attorney, a lower-level office that mostly handles misdemeanors, The LA Times reports.
Police arrested Avenatti, who is believed to be actually considering a 2020 run for the Democratic presidential nomination, on suspicion of felony domestic abuse on Nov. 13. He then posted a $50,000 bond, proclaiming his innocence (as usual).
However, early last week, accuser Mareli Miniutti came forward with the complaint she filed for a restraining order against Avenatti. She described someone who is much different than Avanatti appears to be in public; he’s described himself as a ‘male feminist’ and a cross between Alan Alda and Barack Obama. For real.
Estonian actress Miniutti, 24, claimed in her filing that Avenatti is “verbally abusive and financially controlling” man who got “very close to me in a threatening manner that made me feel afraid” while allegedly hitting her in the face with a pillow.

“Do not disrespect me,” he allegedly said to her according to the complaint. “You don’t get to sleep in my house tonight,” he supposedly said, also allegedly calling her a “f*****g b****h.”
Some feminist.
Granted, Avenatti deserves the presumption of innocence, which is our justice system — even though he sought to deny it for Justice Brett Kavanaugh through his representation of Julie Swetnick, a woman whose claims that Kavanaugh sexually abused her once upon a time, somewhere, in a land far, far away were bogus.
But police did grant Miniutti’s restraining order.
Nevertheless, despite the details of Miniutti’s allegations and the issuance of a restraining order, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, headed by Democrat Jackie Lacey, declined to prosecute the case as a felony without comment.
Avenatti claimed victory on Twitter.
“I am thankful that the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has rejected filing any charges against me after a fair, careful and thorough investigation. I have maintained my innocence since the moment of my arrest. This Thanksgiving, I am especially grateful for justice,” he wrote.
That said, he’s not completely in the clear. He could still be prosecuted and convicted of misdemeanor domestic abuse charges, which carry a maximum of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
But again, it’s California. It’s L.A. And he’s a #TrumpHater. We’re not optimistic justice really will be served for Ms. Miniutti.
