(National Sentinel) Final Shot: Reports before and after the 2018 midterm elections have said that special counsel Robert Mueller is set to wrap up his probe into alleged “collusion” between Mother Russia and the 2016 Trump campaign, and at least one legal expert believes the final report he issues will be “devastating” to POTUS Donald Trump.
“I think the report is going to be devastating to the president. I know the president’s team is already working on a response to the report,” Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz said on ABC News‘ “This Week.”
“At some point when the report’s made public, and that’s a very hard question considering the new attorney general who has the authority to decide when and under what circumstance to make it public, it will be made public probably with a response alongside.”
Reports last week said that POTUS Trump has provided Mueller’s team with written responses to questions — one of which pertained to a joke the president made on the campaign trail about Russian hackers being able to locate Hillary Clinton’s “missing” 30,000 emails she deleted from her private server, most likely to hide their classified contents from investigators.
Dershowitz, who has criticized Mueller’s probe early and often, did clarify that he didn’t think that the president would face any criminal charges.
“When I say ‘devastating,’ I mean it’s going to paint a picture that’s going to be politically very devastating. I still don’t think it’s going to make a criminal case because collusion is not criminal,” he said.
“What I think Mueller is going to do if he’s smart is he’s not going to take the chance on being rebutted. He’s just going to lay out just the facts.”

Well, he’ll lay out the ‘facts’ as he wants to present them.
This prediction makes perfect sense when you consider the objective Mueller’s probe in the first place — to cast further doubt on the legitimacy of the Trump presidency and to further undermine him while in office.
The insider bet for months has been that since there is no evidence at all of so-called “collusion,” Mueller is going to try to hit the president over “obstruction of justice” for firing FBI Director James Comey, a long-time buddy of Mueller’s (which means that Mueller should never have been appointed to look into this in the first place because that’s a conflict of interest).
Presidents are free to fire any Executive Branch employee — for cause, or for no reason at all. Besides, firing Comey did not ‘obstruct’ the ‘Russia’ investigation because, as we’ve seen, Mueller’s probe went on.
And on. And on.
Mueller isn’t interested in finding out about real Russian collusion or any other “Spygate” crimes because if he was, he’d have indicted Hillary Clinton, Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS, Christopher Steele, John Podesta, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and a half-dozen other figures inside and outside of the Obama FBI, Justice Department and intelligence community.
So nothing in Mueller’s final report, as far as we’re concerned, will be legitimate. It will, however, be red meat for the perpetually triggered Democratic Left and provide them with political ammo for the 2020 election.
