According to information published by the Japan Ministry of Defense on January 4, 2021, three Russian Navy ships, Slava-class cruiser Varyag, Udaloy-class destroyer Admiral Tributs and Boris Chilikin-class fleet oiler Boris Butoma transited from the Sea of Japan to the East China Sea via Tsushima Strait.
