According to a tweet published by the Portuguese Navy on August 23, 2021, Tejo-class NRP Douro is in the Desertas Islands. The ship will be committed to safeguarding human life in the sea, patrolling and surveillance of maritime spaces, in particular in the activity of fishing and suppression of illicit acts, in the control of navigation, prevention, and combating maritime pollution.
