Australia selects companies for Shadow 200 tactical UAS replacement project

The replacement of the Austraian Army’s Shadow 200 Tactical Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) through project LAND 129 Phase 3 has progressed to the tendering process. Four companies have been selected through an abbreviated Invitation To Register process and will be provided a detailed Request for Tender, to further explore plans and conceptual integration designs.

The RQ-7 Shadow 200 is the smallest of the Shadow family of unmanned aircraft systems developed by AAI. It has a wingspan of 20 feet and a payload capacity of approximately 60 pounds. Gross takeoff weight exceeds 460 pounds, and endurance is nine hours from take-off to landing.  (Picture source: US Army)
