Trump schools Democrats: One way or another border wall ‘will get built’

(National SentinelUltimatum: POTUS Donald Trump took to Twitter on Tuesday to troll Democrats ahead of talks about congressional funding for his proposed border wall, saying as definitively as possible that it will definitely be built.

“The wall will get built,” the president said.

POTUS has demanded $5 billion in initial funding for the wall in the current budget. The Senate has already approved $1.6 billion. The Washington Examiner reported that House leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., will offer POTUS $1.3 billion.

The president has said, however, that he’d be willing to shut down portions of the government unless he gets the funding he asked for.

He also said that if need be, the military would be put in charge of building the wall.

“If the Democrats do not give us the votes to secure our Country,” Trump wrote, “the Military will build the remaining sections of the Wall.”

Congress has until Dec. 21 to reach a deal on spending to avoid a shutdown, and POTUS wants the money included in that deal.

In a series of tweets, the president also noted that sections of the wall that have already been built were extremely effective at rerouting thousands of migrants who traveled recently to the U.S.-Mexico border near Tijuana.

“Despite the large Caravans that WERE forming and heading to our Country, people have not been able to get through our newly built Walls, makeshift Walls & Fences, or Border Patrol Officers & Military. They are now staying in Mexico or going back to their original countries,” he tweeted.

“Our Southern Border is now Secure and will remain that way … People do not yet realize how much of the Wall, including really effective renovation, has already been built,” he wrote.

On Sunday, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said during a televised interview that the president should hold firm on building the wall because it’s the right thing to do.

“If I were the president, I would dig in and not give in on additional wall funding,” Graham, R-S.C., said Sunday on Fox News. “I want the whole $5 billion because the caravan is a game-changer.”

“After the caravan, if you don’t see the need for additional border security, you’re just not paying much attention,” he said. “So Mr. President, dig in, do not give in when it comes to the wall.

He added: “I’d put DACA on the table. If I were the president, I’d say, I want two years of wall funding, and I’ll give legal status to the DACA recipients. That’s a good deal for the country.”
