(National Sentinel) Winning: Once again, POTUS Donald Trump has delivered on a major 2016 campaign promise: The renegotiation of the hugely flawed North American Free Trade Agreement, a.k.a. NAFTA.
“This is a model agreement that changes the trade landscape forever, and this is an agreement that first and foremost benefits working people, something of great importance to all three of us here today,” the president said after signing the agreement in Argentina at the G-20 summit with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto.
“Thank you for your close partnership throughout this process,” POTUS told both men during a short speech following the signing.

“Today’s signing marks a critical step in modernizing and rebalancing North American trade,” he said. “The new agreement secures strong outcomes for farmers, ranchers, businesses, and workers across North America, including in areas such as auto manufacturing and intellectual property.”
Among other measures, the deal requires more manufacturing in North America, which the president said would create more American jobs especially.
In a tweet, Vice President Mike Pence noted, “American workers, jobs, agriculture, and intellectual property are all big winners in the USMCA trade agreement. @POTUS promised we would renegotiate bad trade deals and get great ones — and that’s exactly what we did with USMCA. Congratulations @POTUS!

The new deal does not take effect until the legislatures of all three countries approve it, though POTUS Trump expressed confidence it would get through the Democrat-controlled House after the party takes over in January.
“I look forward to working with members of Congress and the USMCA [U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement] partner, and I have to say, it’s been so well-reviewed, I don’t expect to have very much of a problem, to ensure the complete implementation of our agreement,” he said.
We’ll see. This will be an early test for the Democratic House — to see if they’re really interested in helping ‘average Americans’ or if they’re more interested (as were too many departing RINOs) in ‘sticking it’ to the president.
