E-commerce giant Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos has said Amazon directly created more than 1.3 lakh jobs in 2017, not including people the company absorbed from acquired companies. This is more than the entire workforce of Google parent Alphabet, which had over 80,000 employees at the end of 2017. Amazon now has a global employee base of over 5.6 lakh.
