(National Sentinel) Up His Sleeve: After Democrats regained control of the House following the midterms this month, many of them vowed to open new investigations into POTUS Donald Trump, his business empire, and every other aspect of his life as a sop to the far Left faction of their party.
Now, however, the president is warning that excessive harassment by newly empowered Democrats are likely to trigger a series of executive actions that will prove both embarrassing and politically (and legally?) damaging to at least some members of their part, as well as the Deep State they are beholden to.
In an interview with the New York Post that was published Wednesday, POTUS threatened anew to declassify “Spygate” documents related to FISA warrant applications for a onetime adviser to his 2016 campaign, Carter Page.
Republicans have long suspected that the Obama administration’s Justice Department and FBI mislead the secretive FISA court in order to obtain the warrants, chiefly by claiming that the wholly discredited “Russia dossier” was actual intelligence rather than opposition research financed by Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
“If they go down the presidential harassment track, if they want to go and harass the president and the administration, I think that would be the best thing that would happen to me. I’m a counter-puncher and I will hit them so hard they’d never been hit like that,” he said, noting he’s waiting for the perfect time to declassify documents that at least one major ally, Great Britain, has vehemently opposed (which tells a story in and of itself).

POTUS added that his lawyer Emmet Flood advised him to wait to declassify those documents when it was politically practical and advantageous for him.
“He [Emmet Flood] didn’t want me to do it yet, because I can save it,” the president said, pushing back against the notion that the Justice Department should be fully transparent with the American people.
“Some things maybe the public shouldn’t see because they are so bad,” POTUS said, making clear it wasn’t damaging to him, but to others. “Maybe it’s better that the public not see what’s been going on with this country.”
Many Republicans and millions of Americans may disagree with that assessment, but then, we don’t know what POTUS knows. Maybe he’s right.
Then again, in politics, it’s all about timing, as this presidential retweet from Wednesday portends.
