The exhibition will take visitors into the heart of the tragic ruins of Pompeii. Spectacular displays will recreate the destruction of the city and its residents, who have been preserved in the volcano ash.

This will be a journey through space and time with models of machines and 3D recreations. Over 100 archaeological finds from Pompeii, many of which are being exhibited for the first time, will reveal the Romans’ understanding of nature and scientific and technical know how when Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD. All current museology techniques have been used to bring the ancient city back to life.

With this unique immersive experience, visitors can gaze in wonder at exhibits dating back nearly 2,000 years and understand the origin of knowledge and techniques that are still used today.

From 24 November 2017 to 15 April 2018 at the Bourse de Bruxelles.
