The remains of a building dating back to the Imperial Age were found in Rome along the Tiber embankment, at the height of the Milvio bridge.

"In recent weeks ancient remains have emerged near Ponte Milvio", explains the Special Superintendence of Rome in a brief statement. "These are the ruins of a residential building of Imperial Age, found along the bank of the river thanks to a preliminary inspection at a utilities worksite along the Acea-Areti."

"In view of the seasonal rise in the Tiber level expected within days and which could damage the finds, the excavation will be temporarily halted."

"In spring, the archaeological survey will be extensively resumed and the results will be presented to the scientific community and the media", concludes the statement.
