The remains of a large village dating from the Bronze Age have been discovered in Gränichen (AG), Switzerland, according to an announcement by the Cantonal Archaeological Service.

The most remarkable discovery was a pit containing many burnt pottery fragments surrounded by cereal grains and burnt seeds, thought to be the remains of a ritual meal.
Settlements dating from around 1500 BC are rare in Switzerland and archaeologists now hope to determine how the village was organized.
