FORT RUCKER, Ala. — Fort Rucker welcomed a new commander this week.
The Dothan Eagle reports that a change of command ceremony was held Wednesday for Maj. Gen. William K. Gayler, the new commander of the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence.
The program also celebrated the accomplishments of outgoing commander Maj. Gen. Michael D. Lundy.
Gayler was previously deputy commanding general of U.S. Army Europe. A commissioned aviation officer since 1988, he has been deployed for Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
