[Avionics Today 04-01-2016] The Air Force has awarded both Ball Aerospace & Technologies and SiCore Technologies individual $ 47.9-million contracts to develop risk mitigation tools and techniques for the U.S. Air Force’s weapon systems. The Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contracts aim to identify vulnerabilities in the Air Force’s avionics and protect the systems from cyber attacks, according to the Department of Defense.
The Air Force plans to integrate the tools and methodologies into its Avionics Vulnerability Assessment Mitigation and Protection (AVAMP) cyber research platform following tests on the technologies.
The two companies will perform work in Dayton, Ohio, which they aim to complete by March 30, 2024.
