(NSI News Source Info) TORONTO, Canada - February 15, 2012: U.S. Department of Defense, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Public Affairs) Contracts issued  February  15, 2012 are undermentioned;













CONTRACTS


NAVY


            Lockheed Martin, Moorestown, N.J., is being awarded a $148,500,000 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-09-C-5110) for the production and integration of an Aegis Weapon System in support of DDG 116 and the purchase of material assemblies to support Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System Host Nation 1.  Work will be performed in Moorestown, N.J. (85 percent); Clearwater, Fla. (14 percent); and Akron, Ohio (1 percent).  Work is expected to be completed by January 2017.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.





            Schneider Electric USA, Inc., Palatine, Ill., is being awarded $24,548,433 for firm-fixed-price task order 8L01 under a multiple award construction contract (N62583-08-D-0137) for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) for Naval Facilities Engineering Command Far East, Japan.  The work to be performed provides for the design, purchase of equipment, installation of equipment and systems, build, documentation, and testing of an AMI system for the electricity, water, and steam metering.  The contractor shall design and install AMI systems with robust infrastructure, capable of being diagnosed and corrected in the case of component and network failures following all specifications outlined in the performance work statement.  The contractor shall design and install for foreseeable growth and supportability, incorporating fully open standards with industry standard protocols to ensure a robust sustainment methodology.  All gateways/hubs/routers shall be able to transmit via industry standard protocol for future expansion.  Contractor shall work in conjunction and in compliance with Japanese laws and regulations.  The task order also contains two unexercised options, which, if exercised would increase cumulative task order value to $26,555,619.  Work will be performed at Camp Shields/White Beach in Okinawa, Japan, Sasebo Japan, Yokosuka Japan, Naval Air Facility Atsugi Japan, and Navy Support Facility, Diego Garcia.  Work is expected to be completed by July 2015.  Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  One proposal was received for this task order.  The Specialty Center Acquisitions, Port Hueneme, Calif., is the contracting activity.  





            Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Bethpage, N.Y., is being awarded an $18,704,042 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-06-C-6311) to provide engineering and production planning services for mission packages that will deploy from and integrate with the Littoral Combat Ship.  The Navy’s plan is to use continuous evaluation of system maturity through a disciplined system engineering framework to improve mission capability in identified mission areas.  LCS mission packages will be optimized for flexibility in the littorals.  Mission package capabilities are currently focused on primary mission areas of mine warfare emphasizing mine countermeasures, littoral anti-submarine warfare, and littoral surface warfare operations, including prosecution of small boats.  The LCS mission packages are developed and acquired separately from the LCS sea frame.  Work will be performed in Bethpage, N.Y. (45 percent); Washington, D.C. (20 percent); Panama City, Fla. (20 percent); Ventura County, Calif. (10 percent); and Dahlgren, Va. (5 percent).  Work is expected to be completed by December 2012.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
