The former treasurer of the Edgar County Shrine Club in Paris, Illinois has been tossed in the slammer for stealing from the Shrine.

From "Judge sentences Ingram in Shriner theft case" by Kathy Rhoads in Friday's Paris Beacon News:

Judge David W. Lewis sentenced Dennis Ingram, 51, of Chrisman, the former treasurer of the Edgar County Shrine Club, to 120 days in the Edgar County jail with work release privileges, probation for 30 months, and restitution for the benefit of the Shrine Club in the amount of $31,440. On March 16, 2010, the Edgar County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a complaint charging Ingram with the Class 2 felony of Theft Over $10,000, alleging that he exerted unauthorized control over money belonging to the Shrine Club for a period between 2008 and 2010 . . . Initially following his arrest, Ingram pled not guilty to charges, waived a preliminary hearing, and demanded a trial by jury. On April 7 Ingram changed his plea to guilty. Ingram was a member and treasurer of the local Shrine Club until his resignation in 2010.
