A Connecticut murder case has had its trial date delayed. The alleged murderer, Larry Corbett, made a partial confession to a 2008 shooting, and his attorney has asked for more time to prepare.
It seems Corbett thinks he got a raw deal from a Masonic police officer.

Corbett was indicted by federal authorities in February 2010 in the shooting death of George McPherson, of the Bronx, N.Y., whose bullet-riddled body was discovered in January 2008 on Sterling Road in the backcountry. During a December 2008 interview with police, Corbett spoke with detectives about what happened that night after noticing a detective wore a Masonic ring. The detective told Corbett's grandfather, who is part of the Masonic fraternity, that he would treat Corbett like a brother Mason. Corbett then admitted that he shot McPherson in the hand during a drug deal gone bad, but denied fatally striking him. Corbett said that after an unidentified man shot McPherson in the chest, he drove the body to Greenwich and dumped it.
The federal judge ruled that Corbett made the confession knowingly and voluntarily and that police tactics did not constitute coercion.
