Curtis Brothers' big chair (Sitting at the corner of V Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE ) is19.5 feet tall and weighs 4,600 pounds and is made of mahogany from Honduras and was a gift of the Bassett Furniture Industries, to thank the Curtis brothers' for their business (Actually, it was given in the name of the Brothers Outstanding leadership and service to the public.) on July 7, 1959.
