Hacker Gary McKinnon 'suicidal' after losing right to appeal against extradition
The computer hacker Gary McKinnon will make a desperate last plea to the Home Secretary against being extradited to the United States after his appeal to go to the Supreme Court was rejected today.
Lawyers for Mr McKinnon, who has Aspergers syndrome, said today that they would submit a fresh psychiatric report showing the “extremely fragile mental state” he is in after two High Court judges refused him leave to go to to the UK’s highest court.
Glasgow-born McKinnon faces up to 70 years in prison if he is convicted in the US of what prosecutors have called “the biggest military computer hack of all time”.
